2013/14 Individual/Sport Grant
Category 1B - Sports/Individual Applicants
Applications are invited from individuals and athletes who are seeking financial support from Council to participate in their chosen interest or sport at representative level. Council may award up to $500 to an applicant under this category.
The funds will only be paid to the organisation which is overseeing the applicant's involvement in the event for which funds are being awarded. Council will need written acknowledgement from the organisation that they are supportive of the applicant"s involvement in the activity and they are willing to receive the funds on behalf of the applicant. Individual applicant's interests may include humanitarian, educational or community leadership pursuits.
All applicants need to demonstrate:
* a long-term/ongoing commitment to the sport or interest
* how they encourage and support other people to be involved in the sport or interest
* how they are funding their participation in the event (fundraising, employment, family support, sponsorship etc)
* how the experience will assist them in their pursuit of the interest or sport
* that they are financially disadvantaged or have special support needs that might otherwise make it difficult for them to participate in the event/activity.
Applications should clearly demonstrate that the individual is unable to self-fund and that his/her personal circumstances indicate that additional assistance is required. All information on the individual will be treated in confidence.
WHO CANNOT APPLY
- Individuals/groups that are not auspiced by an incorporated body/club/association
- Individuals who were funded in any of the three previous grant rounds
- Applicants that are in a position to self fund their project
- Applicants who have failed to comply with previous funding requirements
- Applicants with considerable opportunity to access funding from other sources
- Council staff. Family members of Council staff can apply if they otherwise meet all of the criteria.
Closing date: Midnight. Sunday 12 May 2013. (Late applications will not be accepted)
Applicants MUST be permanent residents within the Willoughby Local Government Area (LGA), attend school in the LGA or be a full member of the relevent club/association within the Willoughy LGA.
